Purvi Shah, PA-C
Purvi is a board-certified Physician Assistant and Registered Dietitian. She earned her undergraduate degree in Dietetics from the University of Georgia in 2001. After working as a clinical dietitian, she advanced her clinical knowledge by achieving a degree in Physician Assistant studies at the Medical College of Georgia in 2006.
Since then, Purvi worked extensively in the fields of Dietetics and Primary Care, where she served patients in this diverse field of medicine often managing patients with chronic disease. Her experience caring for patients with conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and conditions associated with aging combined with her sense that lifestyle and nutrition could provide a better path to health make her a perfect fit for Functional Medicine. In fact, she has nearly completed her certification at the School of Applied Functional Medicine.
Patients find Purvi to be a creative problem solver who brings compassion and a calming influence to everyone she meets. The staff of Atlanta Functional Medicine welcome her passion for nutrition as well as her ability to integrate other aspects of lifestyle medicine with her vast conventional medicine experience. She firmly believes that educating patients to not only achieve wellness, but maintain wellness is the key to disease prevention. She feels it is an honor to assist patients along this path.
Purvi is a loving mother and wife who enjoys entertaining, experimenting with new recipes, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and spending time with her family.
