— Meet Dr. Joan Ifarinde —

Dr. Joan Ifarinde, MD

Dr. Joan Ifarinde says her passion for functional medicine is rooted in both experience as a physician and her deep desire to see patients truly thrive.

“Over a 30-year career in general medicine and pediatrics, I often met patients who felt unheard—frustrated by quick fixes and a lack of real answers. I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when I discovered functional medicine — a holistic, patient-centered approach that looks beyond symptoms to uncover what lies beneath them. This shift transformed my practice and reignited my love for medicine. I became deeply committed to empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to take charge of their own health and find lasting wellness.

I will take the time to listen to you. Your story, your experiences, and your concerns are central to my process. I combine advanced diagnostic tools with a compassionate, collaborative approach to develop personalized care plans that are as unique as you are.

Unlike traditional practices that often treat symptoms in isolation, I focus on the interconnectedness of your body’s systems. By considering factors like nutrition, lifestyle, environment, and emotional well-being, we can uncover the root causes of your health concerns and develop a comprehensive plan for your overall well-being. This holistic, patient-centered approach often yields more effective, lasting results than traditional treatments.

This comprehensive approach allows us to create meaningful, sustainable changes that restore balance to your life. You are unique; everything that has happened in your life affects your health, for better or worse. Everything is connected, and everything matters. Your healing is a marathon and not a sprint.”
