Atlanta Functional Medicine is honored and excited to announce that all three of our licensed healthcare providers are now certified functional medicine practitioners! Dr. Linda Lee MD and Ashley Walker PA-C completed in-depth training developed by the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) to become part of the elite group of functional medicine providers in the State of Georgia. Both are excited to leverage the latest in functional medicine to continue providing the highest level of personalized medicine for our patients.
After many years as conventional primary care physician, Dr. Lee joined Atlanta Functional Medicine in 2015. Among her many areas of expertise, Dr. Lee is particularly interested in a variety of autoimmune diseases, gastrointestinal illnesses, and endocrine disorders (thyroid, diabetes, PCOS). To earn certification, she passed a rigorous comprehensive exam and successfully presented a functional medicine case that was favorably evaluated by IFM faculty.
Ashley Walker practiced as an ENT Physician Assistant and began training at Atlanta Functional Medicine four years ago. She has shown a particular interest in anti-aging, hormone replacement, and general wellness. Last spring, she successfully presented a functional medicine case that was favorably received by IFM faculty and passed an extensive final exam to earn her certification as a functional medicine practitioner.
Dr. Elizabeth Board, the second certified functional medicine practitioner in Georgia, continues to serve patients across the southeast and educate healthcare providers across the nation. In April 2019, she will be traveling to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for the second year in a row to educate military physicians on functional medicine. Additionally, she serves as a frequent facilitator for IFM conferences.
